			57. SAINT PARASCHIVA She was born in the village of Epivat in Thracia and she lived at the time the Orthodox Church departed from the Catholic one (1054). She was educated in the spirit of Christianism. While a young girl, she used to take off her rich clothes and give them to poor children. She became a nun in a convent near Constantinopolis but, advised by an angel, she left the convent and lived among people, sharing her faith with them. She had the gift of healing.
